Dear Friends,
As we embrace the inspiring spirit of San Diego’s diverse legal community, we are proud to share some highlights that showcase the New Lawyer Division’s commitment to inclusion, support, and authentic connection.
This month, members of our New Lawyer Division proudly marched in the San Diego Pride Parade. This event was more than just a celebration, it was a powerful statement of solidarity and a reminder that diversity in all its forms strengthens our profession and our community. Walking alongside wonderful colleagues and friends, we celebrated the values of equality, respect, and belonging that define both the legal profession and the San Diego County Bar Association.

We also had a rootin’ tootin’ great time at our Wild West Summer Social at the Bar Center! It was wonderful to see so many of you come out. The laughter and camaraderie shared, along with the beautiful view from the rooftop deck of the Bar Center, made the evening truly special. Thank you for making it a memorable experience and for being part of our vibrant NLD community.

In addition to these celebrations, we are thrilled to spotlight the launch of a new initiative to support lawyers at every stage of their careers: the Senior Advisors Section of the SDCBA. Inspired by the desire to create a welcoming space where new and seasoned lawyers alike can exchange mentorship, guidance, and encouragement, this innovative section serves as a “marketplace” where lawyers can seek help transparently and without stigma.
Led by the inaugural Executive Committee including Teresa Beck, Victor Bianchini, Joanna de Vos, Jim Eischen, Stacey Kartchner, Claudia Salinas, Ko Sharif, Janet Sobel, Dan Stanford, Randa Trapp, and Deborah Wolfe, this initiative is a wellspring of wisdom for lawyers navigating the challenges of our profession.
As new lawyers, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to find your footing. The Senior Advisors Section invites you to connect with experienced colleagues who genuinely want to help you succeed and thrive. By fostering a culture of openness and empowerment, the program aims to dismantle the stigma often associated with seeking assistance, affirming the importance of well-being and community support.
We encourage all new lawyers to engage with these programs, whether by celebrating diversity, connecting at social events, or turning to the Senior Advisors Section for guidance and encouragement. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive, and more supportive legal community.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
